People
In groups
In power
Control mechanisms
Falsified concepts of brotherhood
Taking charge
Moulding future
There!
He walks-
Overpowered
Outnumbered
Extinguished
Their words,
Self-sacrificing fools,
Tools for throwing away dignity
Pursuit of selflessness
Yet he walks,
Erect frame
Unclouded mind
Not a cog in the machine.
They laugh
Smirk
Kick dirt and spit.
But he has loved-
Himself more than the system
The rotting away chains of mutual destruction
They don’t matter-
Postions, opinions and beliefs.
It doesn’t matter. All the war.
Taking one battle at a time.
A known end,
Clueless guardians of complicated simplicities
Never stood a chance.
Let them fool themselves,
Opine another man’s thoughts
Second-hand voices
Their number and power doesn’t matter
They can stand to not know.
But he shrugs, and sparks a light
Eyes concealing his years.
A thin smile growing behind the smoke
He knows.
