voters dayThe Election Commission observes its formation day, January 25 every year as National Voters’ Day in order to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process. Now, its important for the young voters to get engaged in the electoral process in order to root out the evils of 3 Cs – Corruption, Crime, Caste and 2 Ms – Money and Muscle.

Young and educated voters must carefully study the patterns of development and not get disillusioned by mainstream media, self proclaimed ‘secular’ and ‘uncorrupted’ leaders. You should vote for someone who has a Vision for the country and proven track record of development.

One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” – Plato.

India is considered world’s largest democracy. It’s time, we become the most efficient democracy too and that is possible only if common people take interest in politics and hold their elected representative accountable for the actions and work done by them. You should vote someone on basis of the work done by them and not on tall claims and promises made by them.

The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all.” – John F. Kennedy.

It is equally important that you make people aware about their rights and responsibilities related to voting and encourage them to vote. Also tell them when they go out to vote this time, they should not to vote for anyone with corruption and criminal charges or on the basis of caste. Let’s teach a lesson to every political party that the power of People is much more than the Money and Muscle power of any party or their candidate. This will prompt the political parties to choose ‘Clean Candidates’ and our journey towards an efficient democracy will start.

Here, I would quote a famous poem by Dushyant Kumar:

Think about the Country, before you Vote!
