Rachana is pursuing her final year in BA.LLB at Symbiosis Law School, Pune. She has always been an avid traveller and loves soaking into the cultures and traditions of various places around the world.
She strongly feels that studying law is her true calling and her areas of interests are Intellectual Property Rights, Commercial Laws and Taxation. Apart from this, she is particularly interested in Public Policy and Social work. As a research intern, she was associated with a couple of public policy think tanks such as Foundation for Democratic Reforms and Centre for Law and Policy Research. It helped her gain exposure towards welfare measures, democratic reforms and aspects of policy making. She is also involved with Preshti, the human rights wing of Alexis Society.
Rachana is very passionate about researching and publishing academic work at various forums and journals. She staunchly feels that writing is a powerful form of expression and that technology has made it so much easier to connect with masses at a global level. Needless to say, she is extremely delighted to be involved with Youth Forum, an amazing platform for us youngsters to put forth our outlook and debate on burning issues that is faced by the society.
Salomi completed her BA.BL (Hons.) from School of Excellence in Law, Chennai in May, 2016 and is currently working as a Research Associate with Centre for Social Justice, Ahmedabad.
She is a reading and learning junkie whose love for writing coupled with a particular fondness for correcting others’ grammatical errors prompted her to take up this editing position.
Her specific interests in the field of law lie in the realm of public international law, particularly international humanitarian and refugee laws.
Shaalini is presently a second year student of the B.S.W., LL.B. (Hons.) course at the Gujarat National Law University.
She was born and brought up in Allahabad. Motivated by my parents, she decided to take up law after which she wishes to pursue Civil Services. Her areas of interests include Constitutional law, Administrative law, Public Policy, Jurisprudence & Sociology. She constantly strives to develop her writing and researching skills.
In her first year, she represented GNLU at Kerala Law Academy Moot Court Competition, wrote a published paper on Aadhaar Bill, 2016 & was a part of the Legal Services Committee.
Surabhi is currently pursuing B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) at Gujarat National Law University.
She is actively involved in colleges committees and centres. She is a seasoned mooter and has represented her college in two moots till date. Being actively involved in college committees and centres, she has been actively involved in research projects and organisation of various events.
She also takes keen interest in reading about the Mahabharata and is a trained keyboard player.
Megha completed her BA LLB from Faculty of Law, Mody University of Science & Technology, Rajasthan in the year 2015. Thereafter, she started working with a good and renowned Law Firm in Mumbai.
In her five years of BA LLB course, she has undergone through internships under good and reputed law firms wherein she was mostly provided with case studies and research based works. The nature of her degree course has prepared her as a researcher. It involved a great deal of independent research requiring initiative, self-motivation and a wide range of skills. Her experiences during internship period have particularly strengthened her understandings in the field of research. Her course has given her a solid academic foundation to develop good writing and research skills.
Today, she works as a Legal Associate with Crawford Bayley & Co. in the Corporate side and everyday is a new day for her. Learning is a never ending process and she is still learning. Besides, she has also worked as a Research Intern with Model Governance Foundation (MGF), Alexis Group from January 2015- March 2015 and received certificate of appreciation for the same.
She likes listening to slow music and loves to sing as well. Moreover, she loves cooking, especially Chinese food. She isn’t a silent person at all but always mistook as one.
New Delhi (2015-16)
Kirti is an alumna of Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi, where she earned her Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and Economics. She is currently pursuing a course in International Humanitarian Law. She has previously interned at the National Human Rights Commission and the Indian Institute of Public Administration. She has also been part of a Development Traineeship in Novosibirsk, Russia where she assisted in teaching in underprivileged schools. Interested in dialogue facilitation and mediation, she aspires to work in transnational service assisting in Conflict Resolution.
Sambhavi is currently pursuing Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi. She also works for Global Youth India, an apolitical organization for understanding international relations and diplomacy. She serves in the India-UK desk which aims at studying the relations between the said countries, and has written articles for the Public Diplomacy department of the same. She currently serves in the HR department of the same.
She has written research papers on comparing political systems, gender theory, Indian political economy and foreign policy. She writes about her socio-political views on her blog ‘Cannot Keep Calm’. She likes to read political fiction and non-fiction and is a singer in the classical Carnatic genre.
Shreya is a History (Honours) student at IP College for Women, University of Delhi. She aspires to be a bright enlightened individual with a strong sense of social commitment. She strives to work for the society in her own personal capacity to be able to make a difference. A feminist at heart, she is working and looking forward to an unbiased egalitarian society.
Aishwarya is currently in her final year, pursuing Economics honours from Gargi College. She completed her schooling from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in New Delhi. Her passion for social work, inspired her to volunteer at SECMOL, an NGO located in a remote village in Leh, Ladakh. Since then, she has been a part of organisations such as Teach for India, Chintan, and Becoming I, working for the welfare of children. She is also the Corporate Relations Head of ENACTUS Gargi, and an active member of its entrepreneurial undertakings.
Recently, she completed a two-month long internship at Ernst and Young, working with the Risk Advisory team. Further more, she contributes towards research based articles for Sigma Research and Testing Centre. In the near future, she hopes to attain a masters degree in public policy.
Currently pursuing her B.Com LLB (Hons.) from UILS, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Sakshi is born to win the world with her rhetorical style. She has been awarded the Best Speaker Award in a National Moot Court Competition. Her desire is to work for the cause of women equality. She has also interned with with Chandigarh Commission for Protection Of Child Rights. With passion and hardwork, she is working towards her career progression so as to make the society a better place to dwell in.
