INTRODUCTION

As the time passed by the country developed in various aspects one of which was educating children for a better future. People in the earlier times used to think that education has no importance and in their view it was better for a girl to work at home and boys to go to the field. Also people thought that educating a girl was totally waste of money rather they should save it for dowry. Boys have been always given first preference as there was a time when girl child was killed and boy wasn’t but that time passed away and so did this issue.

A person who isn’t well educated can never know about his interests and their abilities because they never get a chance to study. There should be a minimum level of education that every one pursues so that he or she can be a good citizen like others who are well educated. People should be educated to a certain minimum level so that they can know what is good for them and what is not. And also they can choose and decide for themselves and so that they can earn for their livelihood.  But it has also been observed that some children who can go to school are not willing to do so and some who want to go to school but because of their poverty they can’t.

As the time changed Right to Education has been more important aspect of the developing country as the youth today is the future of the nation. The enactment of Right to Education helped as it included basic education to the children that are economically weak and who have not completed the primary education. The Parliament enacted the Right to Education Act in august 2009. Article 21A of the Indian constitution defines the importance of free and compulsory education to each and every child of age 6-14.

As the enactment solved the problem to some extent but there came another issue that is girl child education. People believed that only boys should study and work and girls and women are made only for house work. They also believed that girl was the jewel of house and if she goes out for education she’ll loose all her respect and identity. They used to save money for her dowry rather than spending it on her education. People also used to believe that the wife of their son is useless after his death and she should also get buried with him.

As the country developed people gained more knowledge and as the time changed the thinking of people also changed. Now in today society educating a girl child is a major issue that is given being importance. As it is well said everything happens at right time for a right reason today the girls are more educated than boys and have been exceling in most of the professions and spheres of life. Today girls and women are equal to men as they work hard in office like men do and they also overtime sometimes the way men work. Now the beliefs of people have changed. People in today world appreciate and support the girl child education so that after being educated they can reduce the workloads of men and also add on to the income of their husbands and family incomes. Girls in today’s world are equal to men in every aspect and so they also want the liberty that men have. People today think that girls and women by being educated can make home a better and a happy place.

There are many advantages of girl’s education. The biggest advantage for an educated woman is that she can be independent and after her husbands death she can survive on her own. By being educated women can share the burden of men in different phases of life. The girl education is a silent resolution for development of a country. As it can be seen in today’s world that there isn’t a single field where women aren’t excelling and they have been proving themselves better and independent by studying and working hard.
